Autumn Term 1

We have been looking for plants out in the school grounds that fit different criteria. In Forest School we have been spotting signs of Autumn and collecting Autumn leaves.

  

Autumn Term 2

We have been learning to use a hand drill in Forest School to create decorations ready to sell at our enterprise stall! 

Year 2 enjoyed a visit to Redhill Methodist church where they took part in the ‘Christmas journey’ an interactive storytelling experience where they travelled back in time and met Mary and other characters from the Christmas story. 

We also enjoyed welcoming visitors in as part of our history lessons. We had grandparents in to talk to use about what their life was like as a child and we asked them questions. 

   

Spring Term 1

We started the new year with a fantastic Creative Arts Week, where pupils collaborated to create a whole-class collage inspired by Henri Rousseau's Tiger in a Tropical Storm. The pupils examined Rousseau’s painting up close using magnifying glasses before experimenting with paint techniques to create a variety of textured papers. Once dry, they tore the paper into pieces and carefully arranged them to form a stunning collage of Rousseau’s tiger.

    

During Cultural Celebration Week, each class explored a different country from around the world.
